MENGES - The pharmaceuticals company Lek is to open a facility employing the recombinant DNA technology at 11 AM. Addressing the opening of the first production unit of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe will be President Janez Drnovsek and SAZU head Bostjan Zeks. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The government is to hold its weekly session. One of the topics is to be changes to the bill on the government-parliament cooperation after Slovenia joins the EU. (STA)

BRUSSELS, Belgium - A two-day congress of the European People's Party (EPP), which is being attended by its three Slovenian associate members, is to conclude. (STA)

LUXEMBOURG, Luxembourg - Slovenian MP Alojz Peterle of the NSi is to chair a conference "The European Big Bang - What Is Small and What Big?", to be attended by politicians and business people, including Jacques Santer, a former president of the European Commission.

LJUBLJANA - In the 12th round of the Euroleague, Union Olimpija is to play Lottomatica Rome in group A, at 8.40 PM. (STA)
