Culture Day Celebrated Throughout the Country

Ljubljana/Cerklje na Gorenjskem, 8 February - A number of events are being held throughout Slovenia on Sunday as the country celebrates its Culture Day on the day of the death of its most acclaimed poet France Preseren. Minister Andreja Rihter has held a reception for this year's Preseren laureates, the winners of the highest national awards in recognition of artistic achievement, at Strmol Castle, while a traditional reading of Preseren's poetry was held in Ljubljana's Preseren Square.
