The Gathering of Soldiers' Parents in Belgrade Ends

Belgrade, 30 August - The gathering of the Soldiers' parents from BiH, Macedonia and Croatia which began with the parents' arrival by bus in Belgrade yesterday is at an end. The parents left Belgrade dissatisfied, as they were not able to speak with the persons they had requested to meet, i.e. with Federal Secretary of Defence Veljko Kadijević. The parents' main demands were not granted; mainly the discharge of all YA conscripts who have concluded their one-year's compulsory military service, the cessation of all hostilities and the postponement of the call-up of the September generation of YA conscripts. Reportedly, only a few soldiers who had obligations to fulfil at universities were given leave.
