The Slovene Minister of Tourism Offers Aid to His Croatian Colleague

Ljubljana, 30 August - The Minister of Tourism and Catering of the Republic of Slovenia Ingo Paš in a letter to the Croatian Ministry of Tourism, wrote that all who are employed in the tourist business are deeply shocked by the terrorism on the rampage in Croatia. The greedy snatching of Croatian land is absurd, also because precisely international tourism itself has to a great extent nurtured the concepts of peaceful coexistence and the acceptance of the differences between people and nations as one of humanity's greatest treasures. Despite its limited material resources, Slovenia is attempting to maintain in various ways its links with the foreign market, and to plan and develop future tourist programmes with new contents. It is obvious, said Minister Paš, that Croatia has been stripped of all opportunities whatsoever of applying itself to the development of tourism this year. This is why the Slovene Ministry for Tourism and Catering and the minister himself are prepared to assist Croatia in solving all the problems that have arisen as a result of the current developments in this domain.
