Brnik Airport Closed Again

Ljubljana, 31 August - Slovenia's Minister of Transport and Communications Marjan Kranjc has told STA the following in connection with the closing of Brnik Airport. At 1 p.m. today, the Regional Flight Control Service in Zagreb notified Brnik Airport that Slovenia's airspace is closed until further notice. The appropriate measures were immediately taken by the airport authorities. A Yugoslav air force plane came dangerously close in a low fly-by to one of the five civilian aeroplanes preparing to depart from the airport. The runway was blocked by the airport authorities for safety reasons.
