Ljubljana, 11 February - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 12 February:

TRIESTE, Italy - Foreign Ministry State Secretary Andrej Logar is to attend on behalf of Slovenia the first round of three-way talks with Italy and Croatia on the disputed Croatian declaration of a protective fisheries and ecological zone in the Adriatic. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Regular weekly session of the cabinet at which the amended bill on the general administrative proceedings will be debated. A post-session press conference is scheduled for 2 PM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA/BRDO PRI KRANJU - General James Jones, Supreme Allied Commander Europe, is due to conclude a two-day visit to Slovenia. A statement for the press is scheduled for 10 AM, after a visit to a Ljubljana barracks facility with Slovenian army Chief of Staff, Major General Ladislav Lipic. President Janez Drnovsek and Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel are scheduled to hold separate meetings with the NATO general later in the day. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The Defence Ministry is to outline a media campaign to attract people to become professional soldiers at 10 AM.

NOVA GORICA - A part of the fence that divides the cities of Nova Gorica in Slovenia and Gorizia in Italy will be torn down to allow the building of a square that will host EU enlargement celebrations on 30 April.

LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary foreign policy committee is to hold a session. Part of the session, which is scheduled to get underway at 12.30 PM, is due to be held behind closed doors.

LJUBLJANA - FM Dimitrij Rupel is to meet Harald Kreid, director general of Central European Initiative Executive Secretariat.

LJUBLJANA - A delegation of the Turkish parliamentary commission for European integration, headed by its chairman Yasar Yakis, is scheduled to arrive in Slovenia for a two-day visit.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Health Minister Dusan Mramor is due to attend a meeting of health ministers from the current and future EU members that is expected to discuss measures to prevent the spread of avian flu in the bloc.

PORTOROZ - A two-day meeting of economists and business people in the trade sector is to kick off. The forum is being put on by the Ljubljana Society of Economists, the Ljubljana Faculty of Economy and the business weekly Gospodarski vestnik. Economists are set to debate the development of the trade sector and the future challenges.

BLED - Environmental NGOs are to stage a panel on the Triglav National Park as part of the public debate on the proposed amendments to the act on Slovenia's only national park.

LJUBLJANA - The Emzin Photo of the Year 2003 exhibition is to open with an awards ceremony. (STA)

NOVO MESTO - Slovenia's Krka is to play Lithuania's Zalgiris in the 13th round of the Euroleague, group B. Tip off at 8.40 PM. (STA)
