Gov't Busy Taking Care of Prompt Adoption of EU Laws

Ljubljana, 12 February - The parliament has to pass 39 bills and nine resolutions before Slovenia joins the EU on 1 May, while another seven bills will have to be adopted immediately after that. A list of these pieces of legislation was sent to parliament after the cabinet session on Thursday in the wake of a note of warning sfrom Brussels. Slovenia has been told that it is lagging behind in meeting its commitments in brining its legislation into line with the EU acquis.
