Pivovarna Union Profit Soars in 2003

Ljubljana, 16 February - Despite tough conditions on the Slovenian beverage market, the country's second-largest brewer Pivovarna Union posted a net profit of SIT 1.3 billion (EUR 5.4m) in 2003, which is an increase of 89.3 percent over 2002 and 10.2 percent more than anticipated. Besides, sales revenues were up 4.4 percent to SIT 17.2 billion (EUR 72.5m), 0.5 percent over the expected figure, preliminary results from the company show.
