Planica: Norway's Ljoekelsoey New World Champion
Ljubljana, 21 February - Roar Ljoekelsoey of Norway is the new world ski-flying champion, taking the overall victory with a win in Saturday's competition at Planica. In fourth place after Friday's competition, Ljoekelsoey today produced a second series jump of 210.5 metres in difficult conditions to finish with 832.1 points. Finland's Jane Ahonen was second with 814.1 points. Despite having the lead after today's first round of jumps, Tami Kiuru of Finland had a bad second jump of 191.5 metres to finish third with 813.0 points. First-day leader Georg Spaeth of Germany could not hold on to his lead, finishing fourth with 808 points.
