Common EU Market Calls for Flexible Labour Market

Ljubljana, 24 February - New EU members will have to make efforts to achieve greater flexibility of the EU labour market, said Digby Jones, the director general of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI). Jones then illustrated on the example of Great Britain that a flexible labour market is a key for low unemployment; despite having no social partnership the country boasts the lowest unemployment in the EU, he said.
