Ljubljana, 24 February - Below is a schedule of events for Wednesday, 25 February:

LJUBLJANA - 100,000 to 150,000 industry workers are to go on an one-hour token strike at 11 AM, demaning an immediate launch of talks on changes to the collective wage agreements for different branches of industry. The strike was called by the Association of Free Trade Unions (ZSSS), which is to speak to the press at 2 PM. (STA)

HELSINKI, Finland - President Janez Drnovsek is to meet Finland's President Tarja Halonen, PM Matti Vanhanen and Speaker of Parliament Paavo Lipponen as part of his official visit to Finalnd. The president is accompanied by FM Dimitrij Rupel, while on Thursday he will be joined by Economics Minister Tea Petrin and Education Minister Slavko Gaber. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The strategic council for the economy and economic development, a body advising PM Anton Rop, is to meet to discuss economic policy measures aimed at sustainable growth after Slovenia's EU entry. Statement to the press likely at 4 PM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Dutch European Affairs Minister Atzo Nicolai is to meet his Slovenian counterpart Janez Potocnik to discuss a number of EU matters. Nicolai will arrive in Slovenia from Poland, his visit being one in a series of visits ahead of the Netherlands' EU presidency in the second half of 2004. Potocnik and Nicolai are to speak to the press at 5.15 PM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Parliament is to resume its February session to discuss a corporate income tax bill in first reading. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The impact of enlargement on EU foreign trade is to be discussed at 4 PM at the Chamber of Commerce, as Francoise Le Bail, director for SE Europe, Russia and Ukraine at the DG Trade of the European Commission, visits Slovenia.

MOSTAR, Bosnia-Herzegovina - President of the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce (GZS) Jozko Cuk is to meet his Bosnia-Herzegovina counterpart Milan Lovric. On Thursday, he is to attend a conference on investments in Bosnia. Together with Slovenian PM Anton Rop, Cuk is to meet the president of the Bosnian presidency Dragan Covic on Thursday.

LJUBLJANA - The Foreign Ministry is to host a meeting with NGOs on human rights in foreign policy in order to inform them about their activity and to identify the areas in which the ministry and the NGOs could work together in the future. Begins at 9.30 AM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - As part of an EU awareness-raising campaign, the best university theses on the EU are to be awarded by the Government Media and PR Office at 10.30 AM. 15 faculties were invited to compete in the last academic year, with nine responding.

LJUBLJANA - The Defence Ministry is to present a strategy of promoting employment in the Slovenian Armed Forces at 10 AM.

MARIBOR - The final of the Slovenian Basketball Cup is to take place at 6 PM. (STA)
