UNHCR Report: Number of Asylum Seekers Up 57% in Slovenia

Brussels, 24 February - The number of people seeking asylum in Slovenia increased by 57 percent to 1,100 last year. This follows from a report on asylum trends in European and other industrialised countries in 2003, released by UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Ruud Lubbers in Geneva on Tuesday.
