Amnesty International Critical of New Police Complaint Procedure

Ljubljana, 27 February - Amnesty International is concerned that the new regulations on the investigation of complaints against the police - which entered into force Friday - do not adequately ensure that complaints against the police will be thoroughly and effectively investigated in a truly independent manner. Nevertheless, the organisation considers the new procedure a first step towards greater police accountability.
