Mercator Ups Profit by 18.7%, CEO Critical of Shopping-Free Sundays
Ljubljana, 26 February - In 2003 the Mercator group generated a net profit of SIT 5.9bn (EUR 24.8m), which is 18.7 percent more than the year before. Sales revenues went up 3.7 percent to SIT 331.5bn (EUR 1.39bn), which is however 1.2 percent below the expected sum. According to CEO Zoran Jankovic, this was mainly due to the sale of three controlled companies.
