Food Industry Optimistic about EU Entry

Portorož, 3 March - The food industry will have it hard once Slovenia enters the EU: facing a drop in export demand, the companies are not competitive enough and faltering exports to markets of the former Yugoslavia will be hard to make up for with exports to the EU. This is what Ales Kuhar of the Faculty of Biotechnics told a conference of cooperatives on Wednesday. Yet despite the bleak outlook, the food industry remains optimistic.
