Schedule of Events for Friday, 12 March

Ljubljana, 11 March - Below is a schedule of events for Friday, 12 March:

PARIS, France - The second day of President Janez Drnovsek's two-day official visit to France will see Drnovsek meet his French counterpart Jacques Chirac. Both presidents will first hold a tete-a-tete, followed by a working lunch at the presidential palace. Earlier in the day, Drnovsek will be meeting Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin. (STA)

SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina - The financial committee of the five successor states to the former Yugoslavia is to meet for the first time in eight months. Slovenia is due to be represented by France Arhar, a former central bank governor, and Janez Kosak.

PRAGUE, the Czech Republic - A delegation of the parliamentary foreign policy committee is to wrap up a two-day visit to the Czech Republic.

BERLIN, Germany - Culture Minister Andreja Rihter is scheduled to wrap up her visit to Germany.

PORTOROZ - The curtain is to be lowered on the 5th conference on public contracting. The two-day event has been organised by the Agency for Management in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce, Public Contracting Association and the Ljubljana Euro Info Centre.

LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary commission for the constitution is to hold a session. Moreover, the collegiate body of the parliamentary speaker is scheduled to hold a meeting to discuss the March session of the parliament.

BLED - The senior coalition Liberal Democracy (LDS) is to celebrate its tenth anniversary at a ceremony that is set to get underway at 5.00 PM. The party was formed with a merger of four parties. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Details of the Convention on the Protection of the Alps will be presented by Environment Minister Janez Kopac, Secretary General of the convention's standing committee Noel Lebel and Mayor of Preddvor Franc Ekar at a press conference.

PORTOROZ - The 13th Slovenian Advertising Festival is to come to an end with an award ceremony.

PORTOROZ - The cash-strapped Casino Portoroz is due to hold a press conference at noon.

KRANJ - The curtain is to be raised on the 34th Week of Slovenian Drama. The competing plays will be running for the main prize which has been named in honour of recently deceased writer Rudi Seligo.
