Slovenian Minority Protests as Italian Official "Skips" Monument

Trieste, 12 March - The Slovenian minority in Italy on Friday boycotted a visit of Italy's Lower House Speaker Pier Ferdinando Casini, who paid tribute to some sites symbolising past suffering to the region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Minority representatives criticised the official for not honouring a significant monument near the city of Trieste.
