Ljubljana, 19 March - Below is a schedule of events for Saturday, 19 March:
LJUBLJANA - A year since Iraq was attacked by the US-led coalition forces, a rally is to begin at noon in front of the US Embassy, organised by the Stop the War Coalition. The event is directed against global war and neoliberalism, but will also be a sign of solidarity with the Spanish people after the March 11 terror attacks in Madrid. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The Greens of Slovenia are to speak to the press at 11 AM about developments regarding the upcoming European elections.
ZAGORICA - The central national ceremony is to take place marking 250 years since the Slovenian mathematician of world renown, Jurij Vega, was born. President Janez Drnovsek will be key-note speaker; begins at 11 AM.
KRANJ - The 34th Week of Slovenian Drama is to draw to a close with an award-winning ceremony. The Grum Award for most original Slovenian play and the Seligo Award for the best production of the festival are to be given out. Seven productions are competing; begins at 7 PM.
MUNICH, Germany - The 6th Bavarian-Slovenian Evening is to be held presenting Slovenian and Bavarian economic, political and cultural institutions as a means of intensifying bilateral ties. The event is sponsored by Slovenian PM Anton Rop and his Bavarian counterpart Edmund Stoiber.
LJUBLJANA - "Viktors" - the most prestigious awards conferred on popular people in the media and pop culture - are to be given out at a ceremony beginning at 7 PM.
