Slovenia Joins NATO on Monday

Washington, 28 March - Chief of state of Slovenia, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Bulgaria, Romania and Slovakia will deposit their North Atlantic Treaty ratification documents on Monday, thereby officially becoming members of the Alliance. Slovenia will be represented by Prime Minister Anton Rop, who will be joined at the ceremony in Washington, DC, by Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel. A flag-raising ceremony will take place at the NATO headquarters in Brussels on 2 April.
