Shelter offered to refugees in Slovenia

Ljubljana, 10 October - The Ministry of Interior denied the informations that Albanians that deserted from the Yugoslav Army are being returned to the barracks by the Slovenian civil authorities. The Slovenian civil authorities are not returning the former soldiers to the Military authorities and are taking proper care of all the refugees in Slovenia. The guidelines for the Slovenian authorities in their approach to the refugee problem are set by the international standards and the principles of the international humanitarian law. The costs of the refugee procurement are largely above the financial capabilities of Slovenia. There are currently more than 20.000 refugees in Slovenia coming mainly from Croatia, the number growing by a thousand per day. The shear number of the refugee seekers demands that those that are not coming from the war threatened areas are declined any help.
