Italian senators in favour of granting Slovenia and Croatia recognition

Rome, 11 October - Several senators of the Christian Democrats' Party put forward a resolution before the Italian Senate demanding the recognition of Slovenia and Croatia in keeping with the principles of the Helsinki Document. The resolution also contained a demand for the appropriate protection of the rights of the Italian ethnic minorities in both republics. A resolution in favour of the recognition of Slovenia and Croatia was also put before the Italian Senate by representatives of the Italian Radical Party.
