Negotiations with the federal army in Slovenia

Ljubljana, 12 October - A meeting took place in Ljubljana today between the delegation of the federal ministry of defense, led by admiral Ljubivoje Jokić, and the delegation of the republic of Slovenia, led by Miran Bogataj, the Slovenian deputy minister of defense. The Slovenian side demanded the immediate return of all property belonging to the Slovenian territorial defense, while the federal side demanded the return of seized property of the army. The Slovenian side also demanded the immediate removal of mines from trains loaded with army property, offering assurance that there will be no attacks on technical resources or members of the armed forces. The federal delegation insisted that all units remaining on the territory of the Republic of Slovenia withdraw with their weapons and battle equipment, while expressing readiness to hand over certain material and technical resources to the Republic of Slovenia (the military hospital, medical center and the like). The delegation of the Republic of Slovenia guaranteed a safe and quick withdrawal of the members of the federal forces from the port of Koper, but it insisted that battle equipment should remain in Slovenia, until an agreement for dividing it is reached. The federal army will settle its obligations towards legal persons on the territory of Slovenia by October 18., and the Republic of Slovenia guarantees that it will settle the claims of the federal army. Agreement was reached concerning mutual information at the time of withdrawal of units; the Republic of Slovenia agreed not to sell illegally or destroy any property of the federal army. Regarding those, insured by the military in Slovenia, it was agreed that bills for medical services rendered will be settled by the military post office 5055 in Belgrade. Questions regarding persons receiving military pensions will be solved by special committees.
