The Hague Peace Conference: Five republics accepted the proposed solution

Ljubljana, 18 October - Serbia remained the only republic at the Hague Peace Conference to turn down the proposed document on the resolution of the Yugoslav crisis put forward by Lord Carrington. The president of the Republic of Slovenia Milan Kučan supported the proposals. Slovenia is prepared to cooperate as a sovereign and independent state with all other sovereign and independent states, but refuses to agree to a joint institutional frame. In the field of economy, Slovenia agrees to cooperation on the basis of free trade.
