REVIEW OF THE MOST IMPORTANT EVENTS IN SLOVENIA BETWEEN OCTOBER 19 AND OCTOBER 26, 1991

Ljubljana, 26 October - Precisely six months after the declaration of independence of the Republic of Slovenia, sirens in Slovenia and other regions of Slovenia were sounded a few minutes after midnight, signifying the withdrawal of the last remaining Yugoslav army from Slovenia. With this last act of the army - which has forever broken up Yugoslavia, and which, with its constant attacks, still awakes fear of not only the Croatian nation - the Republic of Slovenia has finally taken over control of its territory, but not also of its air space, as Belgrade is still trying to retain Slovenian planes on the ground.
