Ljubljana, 31 October - DELO: Croatian status quo - Mr. Milošević can be the culprit for the abominable war in Croatia, writes Mr. Peter Potočnik, but he can definitively not be blamed for the misguided Croatian politics that does not play a fair game and is not sure of its ultimate goals. Even after October 8, the date of the formal proclamation of its independence, it is not completely clear whether Croatia is an independent state or is willing to endorse certain compromises as to the future status of the regions comprising the former Yugoslavia. The commentator asks in the following as to the beginning of the liberation war on the dismantled, devastated and ravaged Croatian territory, since it is not really clear who is in charge there: is the political authority still in the hands of a single person, Mr. Tudjman, or is there a certain dualism between him and the Croatian government, or possibly everything is left to the currents emanating from The Hague?
