Who Is Janez Potocnik?
Ljubljana, 28 July - PM Anton Rop has nominated Janez Potocnik as the Slovenian member of the European Commission, which will start its term under President Jose Manuel Durao Barroso on 1 November. A non-partisan economist, he is best known for his role in Slovenia's EU accession process and the brief stint at the European Commission after the 1 May EU enlargement.
