Olympics: Slovenia Loses Handball Opener Against Russia

Athens, 14 August - The Slovenian men's handball team lost its opening match at the Athens Games, going down 25:28 (13:16) to Russia in group A play on Saturday. The loss is a serious blow for Slovenia's hopes of qualifying for the finals stages of the Olympic handball tournament. Slovenia will play archrivals Croatia in Monday's second preliminary round.
