Referendum to Decide on Power Plant in Protected Area

Bled, 25 August - The locals of the lakeside town of Bled will go to a referendum in the autumn to decide whether to allow the construction of a hydro-electric plant reservoir that would flood a river basin that was declared a natural monument by the municipality back in 1998. This was decided by the municipal councillors on Wednesday after a civil initiative collected the required support of the voters.
