Japanese recognition and wishes for lasting peace in former Yugoslavia

Tokyo, 17 March - The press representative at the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that due to better conditions in the Croatian crisis areas, lack of difficulties in the introduction of the peace-keeping forces, and more favourable conditions for a peaceful solution of the conflict, Japan recognized the independence of Slovenia and Croatia today.
