Ljubljana, 16 October - Schedule of events in the week from 17 to 23 October:

MONDAY, 17 October
        MOSCOW, Russia - FM Dimitrij Rupel, acting in the capacity of OSCE chairman-in-office, is to visit Moscow as part of a three-day tour of Russia, Moldova and Ukraine.
        LJUBLJANA - The Party of European Socialists (PES) is to organise a two-day conference on the Balkans' EU outlook, to be attended also by parliamentary officials from the Western Balkans.
        LJUBLJANA - Justice Minister Lovro Sturm and US Ambassador Thomas Robertson are to sign an agreement on mutual legal aid in criminal matters and on extradition.
        LJUBLJANA - Slovak Transport Minister Pavol Prokopovic is scheduled to visit Slovenia on the invitation of his Slovenian counterpart Minister Janez Bozic.
        LUXEMBOURG, Luxembourg - EU environment ministers, including Slovenia's Janez Podobnik, are scheduled to discuss the controversial directive on registration, evaluation and authorisation of chemicals (REACH), climate change and environmental strategies.
        TRIESTE, Italy - Two Slovenian minority organisations and two Italian minority organisations are to stage a meeting on the economic role of minorities.
        LJUBLJANA - Public Administration Minister Gregor Virant and Economics Minister Andrej Vizjak are set to present the "All in One Place VEM and e-VEM" projects.
        LJUBLJANA - The five-day iMERA Workshop, organised by Slovenia's Metrology Institute, is to begin, dealing with scientific and research needs and advantages and an overview of national programmes in the field.
        ROME, Italy - A ceremony marking 60 years of the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) to be attended also by Slovenian President Janez Drnovsek.
        LJUBLJANA - Central European seminar dealing with radioactive waste is to be organised by the Agency for Radwaste Management.

TUESDAY, 18 October
        CHISINAU/TIRASPOL, Moldova - The OSCE chairman, FM Dimitrij Rupel is scheduled to meet the country's top officials as well as representatives of Transdniester leadership.
        LUXEMBOURG, Luxembourg - EU foreign ministers will try to reach an agreement on negotiations regarding world trade liberalisation within the WTO, discuss bird flu crisis and hold talks on aid to earthquake-stricken Pakistan.
        LJUBLJANA - A lecture entitled "SE Europe Yesterday and Today as a Challenge for the EU" organised by the Slovenian Association for International Relations is to take place.
        LJUBLJANA - A press conference by the food company Droga Kolinska and the Ljubljana Stock Exchange as Droga Kolinska gets listed on the stock market.
        ZAGORJE OB SAVI - The Regional Development Centre in association with European Association of Mutual Guarantee Societies and the Economics Ministry is to launch a three-day international conference on efficient ways of funding enterprises.
        LJUBLJANA - Delegations from Civil Protection and Disaster Relief Authorities from Croatia, Hungary and Slovenia are to start a three-day meeting.
        LJUBLJANA - A three-day festival of science, organised by the Slovenian Science Foundation, is set to begin for the 11th time.

WEDNESDAY, 19 October
        LUXEMBOURG, Luxembourg - PM Janez Jansa is scheduled to visit Luxembourg, where he is to meet his counterpart Jean-Claude Juncker.
        KIEV, Ukraine - FM Dimitrij Rupel is set to wrap his three-day tour with a visit to Ukraine.
        BRUSSELS, Belgium - State Secretary for European Affairs Marcel Koprol is to meet Pierre de Boissieu, the EU Council's deputy secretary general.
        LJUBLJANA - A three-day international conference on the challenges of information and communication technology entitled "eChallenges e2005" is to start.
        PORTOROZ - A two-day Port Management and Logistics Conference is to begin with an address by Transport Minister Janez Bozic.
        SZEGED, Hungary - Beginning of a three-day session of the permanent Slovenian-Hungarian committee on water management.

THURSDAY, 20 October
        NOVO MESTO - A panel on the situation in the EU in the wake of the double referendum "no" on the EU constitution is to be organised by several business and development organisations, to be attended by State Secretary for European Affairs Marcel Koprol.
        LJUBLJANA - The FIDES trade union of medical doctors and dentists is to speak to the press about alternatives to the privatisation in the health sector.
        LJUBLJANA - A press conference ahead of the 16th Ljubljana International Film Festival, to run from 10 to 24 November.
        FRANKFURT, Germany - The launch of a two-day promotion of Slovenian publishers and literature at the Frankfurt Book Fair.

FRIDAY, 21 October
        LJUBLJANA - President Janez Drnovsek is to host the 8th conference on the future of Slovenia, this time focusing on the EU's goals from the aspect of the Union's budget framework for the next seven years.
        LJUBLJANA - The OSCE chair-in-office, Slovenia's FM Dimitrij Rupel is to host a meeting of mediators in the Trandniestria conflict.
        MARIBOR - FM Dimitrij Rupel and German Ambassador to Slovenia Hans Jochen Peters are to attend a panel on the EU constitution organised by an NGO.
        LJUBLJANA - The Manager Association is to organise a conference on the planned changes to the tax system.
        KRANJSKA GORA - The annual tourism forum dubbed the Slovenian Incoming Workshop 2005 to take place.
        MARIBOR - Justice Minister Lovro Sturm is to attend a ceremony marking 45 years of law studies in Maribor.

SATURDAY, 22 October
        REYKJAVIK, Iceland - Slovenia's Gorenje Velenje are to take on Haukar Hafnarfjoerdur of Iceland in the 4th round of the Handball Champions League, Group C.

SUNDAY, 23 October
        LJUBLJANA - Serb Orthodox Patriarch Pavle is to consecrate the St Cyril and Method Church in Ljubljana, with Zagreb-Ljubljana Metropolitan Jovan also to attend the ceremony.
        GOTHENBURG, Sweden - Slovenia's Celje Pivovarna Lasko are to take on Sweden's Saevehof in the 4th round of the Handball Champions League, Group B.
