Ljubljana, 27 October - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 27 October:

HAMPTON COURT/LONDON, the UK - PM Janez Jansa is to attend an informal EU summit on the challenges of globalisation. British PM Tony Blair is expected to outline plans of the British EU presidency for the 2007-2013 EU budget framework. PM Jansa is to speak to the press at 6 PM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Parliament is to resume its session at 10 AM. The agenda includes the 2004 report of the Ombudsman, amendments to the act restricting the use of tobacco products, and a resolution on gender equality until 2013. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - President Janez Drnovsek is to speak to the press at 3:15 PM to present the details of his letter to EU heads of state and government, in which he laid out his views on key EU issues. (STA)

VADUZ, Liechtenstein - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to wrap up his two-day visit to Liechtenstein. He is due to attend the "Liechtenstein Dialogue 2005" conference and meet PM Otmar Hasler.

LJUBLJANA - Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk and Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Jure Zupan are to present the amendments to the corporate income tax act which the government adopted on 20 October; at 10 AM.

LJUBLJANA - The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) is to host a debate with members of the government reform committee entitled "Reforms Yes, but Not at Any Cost." The debate starts at 1 PM.

NOVA GORICA - The start of the European Regional Forum, an event organised by the city of Nova Gorica and the Brussels-based Slovenian Business and Research Association. The event, dedicated to the implementation of the Lisbon Strategy at the regional level, starts at 9 AM.

LJUBLJANA - A debate on bird flu is to be held at 1 PM, organised by the Institute for Strategic Studies, the Government PR and Media Office and the Center Europa.

FARO, Portugal - Minister of Culture Vasko Simoniti is to attend a ministerial conference about inter-cultural dialogue. Simoniti will also meet his Portuguese host and counterpart Isabel Pires de Lima.

LJUBLJANA - Marja Majer Cuk, who has recently tendered in her resignation as the director of the National Farmland and Forest Fund, is to speak to the press at 11 AM to present the reasons for her resignation.

LJUBLJANA - A press conference ahead of the book exhibition "Frankfurt after Frankfurt" (3-8 November); at 11 AM.

LJUBLJANA - Organisers of the international festival "Break 2.3" are to present the festival, which starts on 7 November, at 11 AM.
