Ljubljana, 27 October - Below is a schedule of events for Friday, 28 October:

LJUBLJANA - Weekly cabinet session. The agenda includes the draft national programme for the achievement of Lisbon Strategy objectives, amendments to the act on administered prices and amendments to the act on communicable diseases. A press conference is scheduled for 2 PM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Parliament is to fast-track an act on compensations to victims of crime as the October session wraps up. The session starts at 10 AM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The central national ceremony marking Reformation Day is to get underway at 8 PM. Culture Minister Vasko Simoniti will be delivering the keynote address. (STA)

BRDO PRI KRANJU - The official part of the 5th regional ministerial on illegal migrations, organised crime, corruption and terrorism, which is organised by the Interior Ministry. A press conference is scheduled for 12:30 PM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The Bank of Slovenia is to host an international conference examining how small developed countries can achieve financial stability. Keynote address to be delivered by central bank Governor Mitja Gaspari. The event starts at 9 AM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Preparations for the OSCE ministerial to be held in Ljubljana in December are to be presented to the press by the Foreign Ministry and the Government PR and Media Office; at 11 AM.

LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary committee for EU affairs is to review current issues, including a report on the participation of PM Janez Jansa in the informal EU summit. A press statement is scheduled for 4 PM.

TRIESTE/BASOVIZZA, Italy - A Slovenian delegation headed by Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to lay wreaths on soldiers' tomb at the Trieste military cemetery and the grave of Basovizza victims.

LJUBLJANA - The National Statistical Office is to present the latest inflation figures at 10:30 AM. (STA)

VENICE, Italy - The heads of the Transport Ministry directorates for transport policy and rail transport, Matjaz Vrcko and Jelka Sinkovec Funduk, will represent Slovenia at a consultation on the 5th pan-European transport corridor.

NOVA GORICA - The final day of the European Regional Forum, an event organised by the city of Nova Gorica and the Brussels-based Slovenian Business and Research Association.

VRHNIKA - The shareholders of troubled leather manufacturer Industrija usnja Vrhnika (IUV) are to decide about a reduction of share capital followed by a capital increase as a step towards restructuring.

MARIBOR - The start of competition at the 38th Salamun Memorial, the last Gymnastics World Cup event before the World Championships in Australia.

LJUBLJANA - The Fran Milicinski Jezek awards for achievements in radio and TV are to be conferred at 8 PM. (STA)
