Ljubljana, 30 October - After months of insinuations, the chairman of fuel trader Petrol Janez Lotric resigned. Meanwhile, the National Veterinary Administration (VURS) ordered the extension of the ban on free-range poultry after it was confirmed that the bird flu virus discovered in neighbouring Croatia was the lethal H5N1 strain. The government adopted the Reform Programme for the Implementation of the Lisbon Strategy in Slovenia and sent it to Brussels.
