Ljubljana, 30 October - Schedule of events in the week from 31 October to 6 November:

MONDAY, 31 October
        LJUBLJANA - The country celebrates Reformation Day, a bank holiday making a 50-year period towards the end of the 16th century which had a profound impact on Slovenehood, most notably the language and culture.
        LJUBLJANA - The Ljubljana Stock Exchange will be closed on Monday and Tuesday due to bank holidays. Trading will resume on Wednesday, 2 November.
        LONDON, United Kingdom - The heads of the parliamentary foreign affairs committees of EU countries and EU candidates are to discuss at their two-day meeting the fight against terrorism and the UN reform. Head of the Slovenian foreign affair committee, Jozef Jerovsek, is to attend.

TUESDAY, 1 November
        LJUBLJANA - All Saints' Day, a bank holiday.
        GONARS, Italy - A delegation, headed by Deputy Speaker Vasja Klavora, is to lay wreaths in memory of the victims of the former Fascist concentration camp Gonars. They are also to attend the ceremony in Gonars memorial park.
        STOCKHOLM, Sweden - The acclaimed Slovenian female choir Carmina Slovenica, conducted by Karmina Silec, is to start its week-long Sweden tour within the international project Music Ties.

WEDNESDAY, 2 November
        LJUBLJANA - The State Secretary at the Defence Ministry, Franci Znidarsic, is to receive the head of the NATO for resources committee, John Langerud.
        LJUBLJANA - Franci Znidarsic, the state secretary at the Defence Ministry, is to receive the Hungarian Ambassador Jozsef Cukor.
        LJUBLJANA - The State Secretary for European Affairs, Marcel Koprol, is to receive the Ambassador of Serbia-Montenegro Ranko Milovic and his deputy Goran Krajnovic.
        LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary committee for agriculture, forestry and food is to hold an emergency session, where they will be acquainted with the measures the National Veterinary Administration (VURS) intends to undertake in relation to the avian flu issue.
        LJUBLJANA - The coalition leaders and heads of the coalition deputy factions are to hold a meeting to discuss the changes to the proposed economic and social reforms.
        LJUBLJANA - PM Janez Jansa invited the heads of deputy factions, Parliament Speaker France Cukjati, and the MPs of the Italian and Hungarian minorities to a meeting in order to continue the discussion on the proposed economic and social reforms.
        LJUBLJANA - The Association of Free Trade Unions of Slovenia (ZSSS) is to present to the press its viewpoints on the proposed reforms, which would in ZSSS opinion have a negative impact on the rights of the employees.

THURSDAY, 3 November
        LJUBLJANA - The government is to hold its weekly session.
        BRATISLAVA, Slovakia - Defence Minister Karl Erjavec is to begin its two-day visit to Slovakia, where he is to meet his Slovakian counterpart Juraj Liska.
        LJUBLJANA - Justice Minister Lovro Sturm, who is also the head of the government commission for religious communities, is to receive Buddhist Lama Shenphen Rinpoche, head of the Tibetan Buddhism Congregation Dharmaling.
        LJUBLJANA - The 19th annual exhibition of foreign literature "Frankfurt after Frankfurt" is to get underway at Ljubljana's arts and conference centre Cankarjev dom.
        LJUBLJANA - Ljubljanski sejem, the company managing the Ljubljana fair grounds, is to present the 15th Ljubljana Furniture Show, to run from 7 to 13 November.
        LJUBLJANA - Slovenia's Union Olimpija are to take on Zalgiris Kaunas of Lithuania, in what is the first match of the first round of the Basketball Euroleague.

FRIDAY, 4 November
        LJUBLJANA - The Economic and Social Council is to discuss at its session the bill on collective agreements and the bill on companies. The council members are to be addressed by Roger Briesch, vice-president of the European Economic and Social Committee, who is also to talk about the Lisbon Strategy.
        LJUBLJANA - Justice Minister Lovro Sturm, who is also the head of the government commission for religious communities, is to receive Daniel Mariaschin, executive vice-president of the international Jewish organisation B'nai B'rith, who is to visit Slovenia on behalf of the World Jewish Restitution Organisation (WJRO).

SATURDAY, 5 November
        CELJE - Slovenia's Celje Pivovarna Lasko are to take on Greece's Athinaikos 5th round of the Handball Champions League, Group B.

SUNDAY, 6 November
        VELENJE - Slovenia's Velenje Gorenje are to take on Merano of Italy in the 5th round of the Handball Champions League, Group C.
