Ljubljana, 2 November - Below is a schedule of events for Wednesday, 2 November:

LJUBLJANA - PM Janez Jansa is to host heads of the parliamentary deputy groups and parliamentary representatives of the Italian and Hungarian minorities for a second round of consultations on the government package of structural reforms; begins at 3 PM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Senior officials of the four coalition parties are to meet at noon to debate the supplemented document on structural reform. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary agriculture committee is to hold an emergency session at 2 PM to debate measures to guard against bird flu.

LJUBLJANA - President Janez Drnovsek is scheduled to give a statement to the press about bird flu at 4 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The executive committee of the coalition New Slovenia (NSi) is to meet at 5 PM to discuss plans for the upcoming party congress.

VELENJE - Retailer Era is to hold a general assembly to decide on the sale of assets, including 47 shops and several storage facilities, to Slovenia's leading grocer Mercator. Era chairman Gvido Omladic and Mercator chairman Zoran Jankovic are scheduled to speak to the press after the session, at 2:30 PM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The Association of Free Trade Unions of Slovenia (ZSSS), Slovenia's biggest trade union association, is to hold a press conference at 11 AM to outline its views on a part of the proposed structural reforms that it claims will curb workers' rights.

LJUBLJANA - The Equal Opportunities Office is to hold a press conference at 10 AM to outline the launch of a media campaign aimed at encouraging fathers to use paternity leave.
