Ljubljana, 9 November - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 10 November:
MILJANA, Croatia/ROGATEC, Slovenia - The Slovenian and Croatian presidents, Janez Drnovsek and Stipe Mesic, are to hold meetings on both sides of the border to continue dialogue aimed at bolstering bilateral ties. A statement for the press is scheduled after a working lunch at noon. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The government is expected to adopt amendments to the trade act which deal with the opening hours of stores; amendments to the act on classified information; a bill on drugs; amendments to the copyright act; and amendments to the industrial property act. The press conference after the government session is scheduled for 2 PM. (STA)
PORTOROZ - A declaration is to be adopted on the penultimate day of the ministerial session of the 14th meeting of the Barcelona Convention signatories. The ministers are also expected to debate the implementation of national action plan. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The council of the coalition New Slovenia (NSi) is to discuss the party's strategy for the future and the implementation of the coalition agreement. A press statement is scheduled for 7 PM.
LJUBLJANA - A scientific conference examining the international and local implications of the 1975 Treaty of Osimo is to get underway at 9 AM.
LJUBLJANA - Imre Ivancsik, state secretary at the Hungarian Defence Ministry, is to meet his Slovenian counterpart Franci Znidarsic on the first day of a two-day visit to Slovenia. Statements for the press are scheduled for 12:30 PM.
LJUBLJANA - The supervisory board of Nova Ljubljanska banka (NLB) is expected to examine Q3 results and the bank's strategy on the domestic market as well as abroad. Meanwhile, PM Janez Jansa is scheduled to hold talks with Andre Bergen, board member at Belgian KBC, which owns a third of NLB.
LJUBLJANA - The Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) is to host the 8th autumn meeting of finance experts. A round table on the role of portfolio investors on the Slovenian capital markets is scheduled for 3:10 PM.
LJUBLJANA - The final day of an international conference on electricity distribution and changes on the Slovenian power distribution market. A round table on competition is schedule for 1 PM.
MORAVSKE TOPLICE - The opening of a conference on the EU and challenges for Slovenian agriculture, food industry and countryside. The event, which is organised by the Association of Agriculture Economists, starts at 10 AM.
LJUBLJANA - "Odgrobadogroba" (Gravehopping) by Slovenian director Jan Cvitkovic is set to lift the curtain on the 16th Ljubljana International Film Festival (LIFFe) at 7:15 PM.
BAMBERG, Germany - Olimpija of Ljubljana are to take on Bamberg in the second round of the Euroleague; at 8:45 PM.
