Ljubljana, 20 November - Schedule of events in the week from 21 to 27 November:

MONDAY, 21 November
        BRUSSELS, Belgium - EU foreign ministers are to debate the 2007-2013 budget framework, Bosnia-Herzegovina's accession talks with the EU, and defence issues. FM Dimitrij Rupel, Defence Minister Karl Erjavec and State Secretary for European Affairs Marcel Koprol are to attend.
        LJUBLJANA - The National Assembly is to begin its November session with MPs addressing questions to PM Janez Jansa at 2 PM. During the seven-day session, MPs are to take a vote to abolish the anti-corruption watchdog and amend five tax laws.
        LJUBLJANA - A joint press conference by seven of the nine in-house Slovenian Railways trade unions and the workers' council is to present the current state of affairs at the railway company.
        VIENNA, Austria - Higher Education, Science and Technology Minister Jure Zupan is to meet his Austrian counterpart Elisabeth Gehrer to discuss bilateral cooperation.
        CRNOMELJ - A panel on the EU, organised by the Europe Direct Info Point from Novo mesto, is expected to discuss the effects of the Schengen border regime on neighbouring Slovenian and Croatian municipalities.
        LJUBLJANA - The management of Slovenian Railways and the Railway Transport Trade Union are to continue negotiations in a bid to prevent the announced 28 November strike.
        LJUBLJANA - A panel on the role of the media in a multi-cultural society, organised by the Peace Institute.
        LJUBLJANA - A press conference by the Consumers' Association, the Health Ministry and those insurance companies that participate in the supplementary health insurance scheme.
        LJUBLJANA - Slovenian euro coins are to be presented to the press by the Government Media and PR Office, Center Evropa, Bank of Slovenia and the Finance Ministry.
        LJUBLJANA - "Slovenia Cultural Profile", the Slovenian version of the Cultural Profile guide, is to be presented to the press.

TUESDAY, 22 November
        BRUSSELS, Belgium - EU agriculture ministers, including Slovenia's Marija Lukacic are to begin talks on sugar reform which are to last for three days.
        LJUBLJANA - The parliament is to continue its November session with a debate of the government-sponsired changes to the tax acts.
        LJUBLJANA - Armenian President Robert Kocharian is to start an official two-day visit to Slovenia.
        PARIS, France - An informal meeting of State Secretary for European Affairs Marcela Koprol and French European Affairs Minister Catherine Colonna.
        LJUBLJANA - A ceremony marking 115 years of the eyesight clinic, operating within Ljubljana's central hospital Klinicni center, to be addressed by Health Minister Andrej Brucan.
        LJUBLJANA - Slovenia's Tourist Board is to stage a panel discussing tourism development in line with environmental protection.

WEDNESDAY, 23 November
        LJUBLJANA - Slovenian FM and OSCE chairman Dimitrij Rupel is to meet Armenian President Robert Kocharian.
        LJUBLJANA - Slovenian FM and OSCE chairman Dimitrij Rupel is to discuss preparations for the OSCE ministerial which is to take place on 5 and 6 December in Ljubljana.
        LJUBLJANA - President Janez Drnovsek is to hold talks with major trade union representatives (the Association of Free Trade Unions of Slovenia, the Pergam confederation, Confederation 90 and KNSS Independence) ahead of the 26 Nov workers' protest against govt reforms.

THURSDAY, 24 November

        PIESTANY, Slovakia - PM Janez Jansa is to attend a two-day meeting of heads of states of the Central European Initiative.
        MANCHESTER, the UK - A two-day ministerial conference on e-government is to be attended by Public Administration Minister Gregor Virant.
        LJUBLJANA - The management board of the Association of Transport and Communications at the Chamber of Commerce (GZS) is to discuss the government-sponsored structural reforms.
        NOVO MESTO - A press conference by drug maker Krka to present Q3 business results and future plans.

        LJUBLJANA - European Science and Research Commissioner Janez Potocnik is to open an exhibition entitled "What is High Science".
        PIRAN - The 23rd international seminar on architecture is to get underway.

SATURDAY, 26 November
        LJUBLJANA - A mass protest is to be staged by trade unions against the government-sponsored economic and social reforms.
        LJUBLJANA - Albanian President Alfred Moisiu is to start a working visit to Slovenia.
        LJUBLJANA/CELJE/KOPER - The 21st Festival of Gay and Lesbian Film is to get underway, to close on 3 December.

SUNDAY, 27 November
        BARCELONA, Spain - A two-day EU and South Mediterranean states (Euromed) summit is to be attended by PM Janez Jansa.
