BRUSSELS, Belgium - FM Dimitrij Rupel is expected to meet Javier Solana, the EU's high representative for common foreign and security policy, at 11 AM. (STA)
PIESTANY, Slovakia - PM Janez Jansa is to travel to Slovakia to attend a two-day meeting of heads of state of the Central European Initiative. The plenary session, to be held on Friday, is to be attended also by Slovenian FM Dimitrij Rupel.
LJUBLJANA - The government is expected to adopt amendments to the copyright, agriculture and asylum acts at its regular session. A press conference is scheduled for 2 PM. (STA)
BRUSSELS, Belgium - EU agriculture ministers, including Slovenia's Marija Lukacic, are expected to conclude talks on the latest sugar reform proposal. Lukacic considers the compromise put forward by the British EU presidency a step forward, but is not fully satisfied with it.
LJUBLJANA - Parliament resumes its regular session with the second reading of the witness protection bill, amendments to the act on research and development, and a resolution on environmental protection.
LJUBLJANA - Parliament Speaker France Cukjati is to talk to the press at 2 PM to present his decision regarding the request by non-parliamentary Youth Party (SMS) to call a referendum on the abolition of the anti-graft commission. (STA)
NOVO MESTO - Drug maker Krka is to present its business results through September and its plans for 2006 at a press conference scheduled for 1 PM. (STA)
PORTOROZ - The marketing of investment funds and their role are to be in the focus of a two-day conference organised by the association of asset management firms. A panel on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange is to open at 5:15 PM.
LJUBLJANA - The council of the opposition Liberal Democrats (LDS) is to discuss current political affairs and elect a new party secretary general. Press statements are scheduled for after the session, which gets underway at 5 PM.
LJUBLJANA - The supervisors of fuel retailer Petrol are to discuss names of applicants for the post of CEO and two board members after Janez Lotric stepped down last month. They will not necessarily take a final decision yet.
LJUBLJANA - Members of the parliamentary foreign policy and defence committees are to meet at 8:30 AM Canada's permanent representative at NATO, Ambassador Jean-Pierre Junea, and his Slovenian counterpart Matjaz Sinkovec.
MARIBOR - Slovenian tax advisers are to meet for a three-day congress, organised by the Association of Tax Advisers of Slovenia, beginning at 10 AM. A press conference is scheduled for Friday.
LJUBLJANA - The curtain will be lowered on the 16th Ljubljana International Film Festival (LIFFe) with the award ceremony scheduled for 7:30 PM. (STA)
STRASBOURG, France - Union Olimpija are to chase their first Euroleague basketball victory this season in group A as they play at Strasbourg; tip-off at 8:30 PM. (STA)
