Ljubljana, 24 November - Below is a schedule of events for Friday, 18 November:
PIESTANY, Slovakia - PM Janez Jansa and FM Dimitrij Rupel are to attend the final day of the two-day meeting of heads of state of the Central European Initiative.
MARIBOR - PM Janez Jansa is to be the keynote speaker at the national ceremony (starts at 8 PM) to mark Rudolf Maister Day, 23 November. The national holiday pays respects to an army colonel who in 1918 returned Maribor and a large chunk of NE Slovenia to Slovenian control.
LJUBLJANA - Representatives of the trade unions expected to take part in Saturday's mass rally against government reforms in Ljubljana and the Students' Organisation of Slovenia are to hold a press conference at 11 AM to outline plans for the protest. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The coalition People's Party (SLS) is to hold a press conference at 11 AM to outline the party's proposals for making the government reforms more socially sustainable.
LONDON, Great Britain - The Ljubljana Stock Exchange is to showcase the Slovenian capital market at a special promotional event in Britain's capital. Representatives of Slovenian blue chips are to take part at the event; as is Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk.
LJUBLJANA - Parliament is to resume the November session at 10 AM. The second reading of the changes to the act on civil servants is on the agenda. Ahead of the session, at 9 AM, the college of deputy group heads is to meet to debate a proposal for the fast-tracking of legislation.
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary EU affairs committee is to debate Slovenia's standpoints on the draft agreement on cooperation in the Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) between the EU and its member states and Ukraine. It will also discuss Slovenia's standpoints for EU ministerial meetings scheduled to take place next week. Chair of the committee Anton Kokalj is to address the press after the session, expectedly at 5 PM.
SKOPJE, Macedonia - Health Minister Andrej Brucan is to take part in the 2nd Forum of Health Ministers from SE Europe that is to run through Sunday.
LJUBLJANA - Justice Minister Lovro Sturm is to outline the Justice Ministry's achievements in the first year since the current government was sworn in; press conference scheduled for 10:30 AM.
LJUBLJANA - Culture Minister Vasko Simoniti is to outline the Culture Ministry's achievements in the first year since the current government was sworn in at a press conference scheduled for noon.
LJUBLJANA - Organisers of the 8th Festival of Slovenian Film are to to hold a press conference at 11 AM ahead of the launch of the festival on 1 December.
