Ljubljana, 27 November - Schedule of events in the week from 28 November to 4 December:

MONDAY, 28 November
        PODGORICA/CETINJE, Serbia-Montenegro - President Janez Drnovsek is to pay an official visit to Montenegro to meet his Montenegro counterpart Filip Vujanovic, Parliament Speaker Ranko Krivokapic and PM Milo Djukanovic.
        LJUBLJANA - Swiss Foreign Minister Micheline Calmy Rey is to pay an official visit to Slovenia. She is to discuss bilateral and European issues with her host and counterpart Dimitrij Rupel.
        BARCELONA, Spain - PM Janez Jansa is to attend a summit of EU and southern Mediterranean countries, marking 10 years of what is dubbed the Barcelona process.
        LJUBLJANA - The Foreign Ministry is to open an exhibition marking 30 years of the Helsinki Final Act. FM and OSCE chairman Dimitrij Rupel is to deliver the opening address.
        BRUSSELS, Belgium - A two-day meeting on the EU competition council is to get underway, discussing the 7th framework research programme, industrial policy and the services directive. State Secretary at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Research Janez Mozina is to attend.
        LJUBLJANA - Education and Sports Minister Milan Zver and Labour, Family and Social Affairs Minister Janez Drobnic are to present their achievements after a year in office at separate press conferences.
        ROTTERDAM, Netherlands - A ministerial of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) is to discuss state administration and its role in the 21st century. Public Administration Minister Gregor Virant is to be in attendance.
        LJUBLJANA - A panel on education and research with a view of peaceful use of nuclear energy is to be organised by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology and the Nuclear Society of Slovenia. To be attended by Higher Education, Science and Research Minister Jure Zupan and MEP Romana Jordan Cizelj.
        BLED - A two-day meeting on changes in the agriculture policy is to be launched by the Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry president Peter Vrisk, Agriculture Minister Marija Lukacic and Minister of Local Government and Regional Policy Ivan Zagar.
        LJUBLJANA - A press conference by the opposition Liberal Democrats (LDS) president Jelko Kacin and vice-president Matej Lahovnik. They are to present results of studies by the LDS regarding the impact of government-sponsored reforms.
        LJUBLJANA - Social Democrats (SD) leader Borut Pahor is to outline his views on current affairs at a press conference.

TUESDAY, 29 November
        LJUBLJANA - A press conference to outline preparations on the 13 OSCE ministerial, which is to take place on 5 and 6 December.
        SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina - A ceremony marking 10 years of the Dayton Agreement, to be attended by FM and OSCE chairman Dimitrij Rupel.
        LJUBLJANA - Parliament is to resume its November session.
        LJUBLJANA - Health Minister Andrej Brucan is to present the ministry's achievements during his first year in office.
        LJUBLJANA - A press conference by Human Rights Ombudsman Matjaz Hanzek to mark the World Human Rights Day (10 December).
        LJUBLJANA - The National Council is to stage a panel on higher education in the light of government reforms.
        BLED - A meeting of state prosecutors to be attended by Justice Minister Lovro Sturm and Interior Minister Dragutin Mate.
        LJUBLJANA - Higher Education, Science and Technology Ministry is to confer the Zois Awards, the highest national prizes for science.
        LJUBLJANA - Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk is to present his achievements in the first year in office.
        LJUBLJANA - The 21st Literary Fair is to be opened with an awards ceremony for the nicest Slovenian book, the best first literary effort and the best young translator. The event runs until 4 December.
        LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts is to present a Swedish-Slovenian dictionary.
        
WEDNESDAY, 30 November
        LJUBLJANA - The parliament's November session is to conclude.
        LJUBLJANA - Defence Minister Karl Erjavec is to stage a press conference, highlighting his achievements after one year in office.
        LJUBLJANA - The management Board of the energy association at the Chamber of commerce (GZS) is to discuss its programme of activities for 2006.

THURSDAY, 1 December
        LJUBLJANA - Weekly cabinet session.
        BRUSSELS, Belgium - A two-day meeting of the EU justice and home affairs council, to be attended by Interior Minister Dragutin Mate.
        BRUSSELS, Belgium - A two-day EU transport, telecommunications and energy council session is to be attended by Economics Minister Andrej Vizjak.
        BRATISLAVA, Slovakia - The fifth regional meeting of parliament speakers from Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia is to be attended by Slovenian Parliament Speaker France Cukjati. The two-day meeting is to include parliament speakers from Bulgaria and Romania.
        LJUBLJANA - A panel entitled "Islam in Europe" is to be organised by the Government PR and Media Office, Center Evropa, Institute for Strategic Studies and the Turkish embassy.
        SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina - Slovenia's largest grocer Mercator is to open a new shopping centre in Sarajevo.
        PORTOROZ/PIRAN - The eighth Festival of Slovenian Film is to get underway, with the Badjura lifetime achievement award conferred on director Joze Pogacnik. The festival runs until 4 December.
        HRASTNIK - The 120 anniversary of birth of classical philologist and translator Anton Sovre is to be marked by a premiere of a movie about Sovre.
        LJUBLJANA - Union Olimpija is to take on Greece's AEK Athens in the 4th round of the Euroleague.

FRIDAY, 2 December
        KIEV, the Ukraine - President Janez Drnovsek is to pay a visit to Ukraine at the invitation by his Ukrainian counterpart Viktor Yushchenko.
        BRUSSELS, Belgium - A session of the EU Environment Council is to be attended by Environment Minister Janez Podobnik.
        LJUBLJANA - A panel of economic advisers working abroad and companies, discussing political and economic plans for Slovenia is to be addressed by FM Dimitrij Rupel.
        CACAK, Serbia-Montenegro - Mercator, Slovenia's largest retailer, is to open an outlet in Cacak.

SATURDAY, 3 December
        ZEMUN, Serbia-Montenegro - Retailer Mercator is to open a major new shopping centre.
        LJUBLJANA - Preseren day, marking the birth of Slovenia's most famous poet, is to be celebrated throughout Slovenia.
        LJUBLJANA - An exhibition of paintings, prints and sketches by renowned artist Joze Ciuha is to open.
        VELENJE - Gorenje handball club is to host France's Montpellier in the first leg of the best of 16 in the Champions League.
        
SUNDAY, 4 December
        KOLDING, Denmark - Slovenian handball champions Celje Pivovarna Lasko are to take on Denmark's Kolding in the first match of the best of 16 in the Champions League.
