Interior Ministers Endorse New Timetable for SIS II

Brussels, 28 February - EU home ministers, meeting in Brussels on Thursday, endorsed a new framework schedule for the phasing in of the next-generation Schengen Information System (SIS II) by September 2009, nine months later than originally planned. A group of "friends of SIS II" will make sure the introduction goes smoothly.
