EU Congratulates New Russian President, Expresses Concerns

Ljubljana, 4 March - The EU congratulated on Tuesday the newly elected Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. Noting that the election took place in a generally calm and peaceful manner, the EU however regrets that the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights had to conclude that a meaningful election observation mission was not
feasible.
