EU Welcomes Lisbon Treaty Endorsement by UK

Ljubljana, 19 June - The Slovenian EU presidency welcomed on Thursday the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty by the House of Lords of the UK parliament, saying its endorsement in Britain proved that it was still a living document despite the rejection by Ireland. "Every ratification counts as an important step towards the enforcement of the treaty," the statement read.
