Karavanke Tunnel Lorry Ban Imposed for Safety, Austria Says

Ljubljana, 3 August - Austria decided to impose summer restriction on heavy vehicle traffic through the Karavanke border tunnel to improve road safety, Austrian Transport Minister Doris Bures wrote in reply to a complaint from her Slovenian counterpart Patrick Vlacic over Austria's unilateral decision to ban lorries from the single-tube tunnel on Saturdays.
