Finance Committee Scraps Public Sector Pay Cut Proposal

Ljubljana, 13 September - The parliamentary Finance and Monetary Policy Committee rejected on Tuesday a controversial amendment for a 4% pay cut in the public sector, ending speculation on a possible general strike. The committee meanwhile endorsed a ban on new hiring in the sector by the end of 2012.
