Appointment of Speaker Uncertain, SDS Refuses to Vote

Ljubljana, 21 December - A meeting of the majority of deputy groups before the maiden session of parliament failed to provide any certainty as to the appointment of the parliamentary speaker, with the firmest announcement coming the Democrats (SDS), who said they would not back any of the candidates.
