NLB Supervisors Leave Decision on Mercator Sale to Shareholders

Ljubljana, 24 January - The supervisors of NLB lacked on Tuesday the quorum to decide whether the bank should sell its stake in retailer Mercator. The board, several of whose members excluded themselves from the procedure over a potential conflict of interest, instead proposed that the decision be left to shareholders, meaning the state, which has been against the deal.
