Officials Condemn Violent Maribor Protests

Ljubljana/Maribor, 26 November - Interior Minister Vinko Gorenak and Police Commissioner Stanislav Veniger condemned Monday's protests against Maribor Mayor Franc Kangler which turned violent, saying that the rally had not been reported in advance and had therefore been illegal. Presidential candidates Borut Pahor and Danilo Türk called for the calming down of the situation.
