Slovenian Jesuits Surprised by Choice of New Pope

Ljubljana, 14 March - The election of Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio for the new pope came as a surprise to the Jesuits in Slovenia, as this is the first time that a member of their order became the head of the Catholic Church. Bergoglio was also the only Jesuit among the cardinal electors, Provincial of the Slovenian Jesuits Milan Bizant told the STA on Thursday.
