As parliament banned Nazi and fascist symbols upon the coalition's proposal on Thursday, the ruling Freedom Movement called a news conference to condemn the depiction of three of its MPs in Nazi uniforms on today's cover of the right-wing weekly Demokracija. The party pointed the finger at the opposition Democratic Party (SDS).

The National Assembly passed on Thursday a bill on emergency measures dealing with a shortage of staff in healthcare to ensure better access to healthcare, extending certain previous measures while bringing new, temporary ones. The bill passed in a 51:0 vote.

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has ruled that prohibiting contact between three children and their mother in a Slovenian custody and contact rights case in 2018 was unjustified. Slovenia must pay a total of EUR 36,500 in damages to the mother and children.

European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos will be on her first official visit to Slovenia on Monday, Prime Minister Robert Golob said in a doorstep statement ahead of an EU summit in Brussels on Thursday. After an EU-Western Balkans summit on Wednesday marked by candidate countries' disappointment, Golob argued for EU pragmatism.
